RECYCLING

FRIDAYS are Curbside Recycling Days in Chatham Borough

The Recycling Depot, located at 99 Summit Avenue, is open to the public Saturdays 9am-12 noon

The Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA) collects recyclable materials in Chatham Borough at curbside and recommends using 32-gallon containers with lids. Recyclable items can be comingled in the container for single-stream collection; however, the MUA does not accept plastic grocery store plastic bags with your recycling because these plastic bags jam the sorting mechanisms at the recycling facility.  Plastic grocerty store bags can be recycled at the specially-marked container at the Recycling Depot or can be returned to the grocery store. Most grocery stores will accept them.
