DRIVE ELECTRIC!

 DRIVE ELECTRIC!

Since 2019, the Environmental Commission has hosted an annual event highlighting electric vehicles. Initially, this event was an owners’ car show where neighbors brought their cars downtown and answered questions from the public about owning and driving an electric car.

From 2021, the event expanded to a full EV EXPO with local owners taking part in a National Drive Electric Week event and local dealers bringing a range of new EV offerings to a central location. The exhibition also features electric bikes and motorcycles and in 2023, a solar powered racing car built by Rutgers University Students. Alongside the cars, various organizations table to give information on the future of commuting and school transportation, tax credits and incentives for EVs, with sponsorship from PSE&G presenting home charging initiatives.
